Informative and interesting I visited the museum which was actually closed at time of visit but a lovely chap opened it up for me to explore. The pieces in the glass part are fascinating with a lot of historical content. The museum of St. Helens part was small but equally as interesting. Learnt a lot about this small northern town. After the walk around I was shown a lot of brochures for other places to visit while I was up north. Although it's small it has a charm about it. We'll worth a visit

cheap and lovely I went with my husband and 3yo daughter. we were charged £8pp but this charge inc a 12m membership. there was more to see than i originally thought and they change their art displays every 6-8 weeks.

What a wonderful surprise. We did not have high expectations of this visit but, wow, what a surprise. The welcome started at reception and we were shown how to get round the museum to all the exhibits and special exhibitions. The local history section was so well presented and a total surprise. Very interesting industrial archaeology The cafe was so refreshing with 'home-made' food quality. A great day out for all ages. There are a couple of things the management need to consider - the web site does not do the experience justice and there is no mention of accessibility for wheelchairs etc - it is fully accessible but they don't say so! The entrances into the kiln lack signage.
