Our canal side Cafe serves a range of freshly cooked meals and sandwiches. We have a selection of drinks available including alcoholic beverages. For groups of over 20 people we ask that you call in advance of your visit.

Payments of cash or card are taken at the payment machine at the entrance of our building. You can also use the Ringo app.

Located in the heart of St Helens town centre, Mercure St Helens offers air-conditioned rooms and free parking. It also features an onsite health club.

We aim to offer a glass blowing session around midday. We will always try to offer another daily session around 2pm. In peak times we will try to session in another at 3pm. Please phone ahead if you are on a schedule for the latest information 01744 22766. Sometimes we have to move sessions to allow the charity to complete a commision or teach a class. This work allows us to keep the museum open. We cannot guarantee sessions will take place at precise times unfortunately.
ENTRY TO THE MUSEUM AND TANK HOUSE IS FREE. THERE IS JUST A SMALL CHARGE TO WATCH GLASS BLOWING. UNFORTUNATELY THE TANK HOUSE IS CLOSED UNTIL THURSDAY 18TH APRIL. There is no need to book if you are visiting as an individual or with family and friends. We offer sessions for home schooled groups of 20 or more. £6 per head includes guided tour, glass blowing demonstration, and a workshop. For every 2 children one adult comes free. Additional adults are £4.50. Minumum charge £120. Costs apply to children above the age of 4. Please note costs are subject to additional VAT charge.
Visit times 10am – 1pm or 2pm on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Space is provided to store bags and have lunch.
